He was killed in 1903 Talledega by a Southern RR car, leaving a widow and one son who was a surgeon in Birmingham.

Abner H. FLEWELLEN
M, b. 25 June 1760, d. 15 August 1815
Abner lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina for one year prior to the Revolution. On his return he enlisted as a private in the Continental Army. By September 1780 he was an ensign in the Halifax county company of Capt. John Powers and the regiment of Col. Whitman Hill, later Col. William Clinton. He fought in the Battle of Guilford Courthouse in March 1781. In 1784 he received a grant from the state of 100 acres for 50 shillings. In 1792 he sold 280 acres and moved to Georgia. In 1797 He served as captain of the 2nd Battalion of Militia from Warren County, Georgia. During the Revolution he fought in the Battle of Guilford Courthouse in North Carolina.
Abner H. FLEWELLEN, son of William FLEWELLEN and Elizabeth HOLLOWAY, was born on 25 June 1760 in Halifax County, North Carolina.
Abner married Nancy Ann LANE, daughter of William LANE and Elizabeth ALFORD, circa 1780 in North Carolina. She was the aunt of Gen. Joseph Lane of Oregon, noted in the Mexican War, and who ran for Vice-President on the John C. Breckenridge ticket in 1860. After the death of her husband she moved to Bibb County, Georgia to be near her daughters.
Abner H. FLEWELLEN was included on a tax list in 1784 in District 15, Halifax County, North Carolina. He was taxed for one white poll and one black poll.

In 1801 Abner H. FLEWELLEN had land in Captain Stephen Marshal's District, Warren County, Georgia, adjoining the land Zacheus BURT. The land was located near Rocky Comfort Creek.1
Abner H. FLEWELLEN sold a tract of land to Samuel Posey on 7 February 1807 in Warren County, Georgia. Timothy MATHEWS was one of the adjoining landowners.2

Executors were his wife, Nancy, Timothy Mathews, William Flewellen, and Tarpley Holt. The will was signed 12 Sep 1812 and witnessed by Hines Holt, Reuben Jones, and Wilson Collins. Nancy FLEWELLEN, daughter of Abner H. FLEWELLEN and Nancy Ann LANE, was born on 4 January 1798 in Bibb County, Georgia.1
Nancy married James MYRICK circa 1818 in Georgia. The couple had children: Fannie, Susan and James.2
Nancy FLEWELLEN gave a history of the Flewellen family dating back to Richard Flewellen and Betsy Taylor on 23 December 1860. It was taken down by Edward Archalaus Fluellen, the son of James Fluellen who married Elizabeth Peoples.3
Nancy FLEWELLEN died on 19 October 1872 in Holton, Bibb County, Georgia, at age 74.1 She was buried in Myrick Family Cemetery.

Elizabeth Lane FLEWELLEN, daughter of Abner H. FLEWELLEN and Nancy Ann LANE, was born on 24 August 1793 in Georgia. Elizabeth Lane FLEWELLEN also went by the name of Betsy.
Elizabeth married Tarpley HOLT, son of Simon HOLT and Sarah HINES, on 22 December 1809 in Baldwin County, Georgia. In 1822, one year after their marriage, Tarpley and Eliza moved to the Holton community to be near her sister, Martha. He was the first representative from Bibb County to the legislature and a major of a militia battalion stationed at Fort Hawkins. The couple had children: Ann, William Simon, Margaret Eliza, Martha Sarah, Tarpley Lafayette, and Abner Flewellen Holt.1

Margaret E. FLEWELLEN, daughter of Abner H. FLEWELLEN and Nancy Ann LANE, was born on 21 January 1803 in Baldwin County, Georgia. Margaret E. FLEWELLEN also went by the name of Peggy.
Margaret married William Chambliss REDDING on 23 October 1821 in Baldwin County, Georgia. They had children: Mary Anna, Martha, James, Tarpley, and Charles.1

Abner married Nancy Jones circa 1822.2 He was a distinquished physician in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia. He married first a Miss Jones and had children Catherine, William, Anna Lane, and Nancy Jones Flewellen. He married secondly Miss Alexander and had Lizzie and Rivina.
Dr. Abner H. FLEWELLEN was named an executor in the will of William FLEWELLEN dated on 20 August 1833 in Clinton, Jones County, Georgia.3

William married Mary THWEATT on 3 November 1814 in Georgia. They had: William, James T., Abner H., and Julia.1,2 He was an attorney. He practiced law in Columbus, Georgia. In 1828 he was commissioned Brigidier General of First Brigade of Fifth Division of Georgia Militia.
William FLEWELLEN was living on 1 April 1817 in Jones County, Georgia. On that date he appears as a member of a jury in local court records. He also appeared there in the 1820 Census and again on 14 July 1821 when a deed to the Clinton Methodist Church was made by the Justices of the Inferior Court to William Flewellen, Elisha Tarver, Peter Clower, James Jones and Pierce A. Lewis as Trustees of the church. One hundred dollars was the consideration for the four acres of land. It is thought that the present day church building is the one built at that time.3
William left a will dated 20 August 1833 in Clinton, Jones County, Georgia. The will was probated 23 Oct 1835 and named his wife, Mary Flewellen, and children, Eliza T., William W., James T., Abner H., Martha Ann, and Julia Frances as heirs. Included in the estate was land in Monroe County, Georgia. Guardians and executors were his brother, Abner H. Flewellen, and James Thweatt. Witnesses were Robert V. Hardeman, E. T. Taylor and T. H. Bray.4

Fannie's obituary was printed on 3 February 1932 in the The Montgomery Advertiser newspaper, published in Montgomery, Alabama. It said: "Mrs. Fannie Mathews Rucker, 58, died at the family home at Elmore last night at 7 o'clock. She was a lifelong member of the Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Benson Rucker, four sons, Benson, Max, Leo and Conway Rucker of Elmore; one daughter, Mary Rucker, of Elmore; four sisters, Mrs. H. C. James, Mrs. G. C. Allen of Montgomery and Mrs. W. L. Dunn and Mrs. Walter Stewart of Prattville. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by the Leak Company."
