- [S697] Find a Grave shows DOB 22 Aug 1833. Dates on tombstone nearly impossible to read. It only shows death date. Her obit said she was 21 years old which would make her born in 1831. The date I had was 22 Sep 1831 which I believe came from the Burt Southern Mail List and, since it agrees with the age in the obit, that is the date I believe the more accurate.

The second letter does appear to be an L but rather hard to read. So I now conclude that this is Spencer rather than Isaac. Further evidence is tha age 29 which would be correct for Spencer, but Isaac would have been 40. Also Spencer was a cabinet maker.

Thomas Jones Jr.
M, b. 1809
Thomas Jones Jr., son of Seaborn Jones, was born in 1809 in Georgia.
Thomas married Malina L. (?) circa 1830.1
Thomas began military service on 27 December 1859 in Lowndesboro, Lowndes County, Alabama, when he enlisted as a private in the "Lowndesboro Guards". The name of the unit was changed to the "Lowndesboro Beauregards" when it entered the Confederate Army in 1861, however Tom did not appear on the muster roll at that time. Due to his age he may have served in a local home guard unit during the war.
