Sanford-- A marriage of much interest to the many friends of the couple all over Autauga County, was that of Mr. Will A. Hunt, of this city, and Miss Nina V. Sanford, which occurred at the residence of the bride's parents in Deatsville at 7:2O o'clock on last Tuesday evening.

The marriage ceremony was performed by Rev. O. S. Welch, pastor of the Methodist Church of Prattville, and a large number of relatives and friends were present to offer congratulations and wish for the couple a happy and prosperous voyage o'er the matrimonial sea.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William O. Sanford, of Deatsville, and a young lady of an unusual charm of manner. The groom is a sterling businessman of Prattville, whose friends are limited by the extent of his acquaintance, and The Progress joins those in extending congratulations to him and best wishes to both.

Mr. and Mrs. Hunt will reside in Prattville and will occupy a cottage on Fourth Street, just east of the Methodist Church.

She was the widow of Herbert C. Reid. There are no immediate survivors.

     Grover Cleveland HUNT, son of Thomas Brown HUNT and Mary Jane NIXON, was born on 6 May 1892 in Pine Level, Autauga County, Alabama.1

Grover Cleveland HUNT appeared on a census, enumerated 28 June 1900, in the household of Thomas Brown HUNT and Mary Jane NIXON in Liberty Beat, Autauga County, Alabama.2

Due to a need for men to serve during World War I, the United States instituted a draft. The first registration was for men between the ages of 21 and 31. As a result, this first registration included men born between June 5, 1886 and June 5, 1896. Grover filled out a draft card on 5 June 1917 in Autauga County, Alabama. He was 25 years old and employed in farming by J. E. Rogers. He was discribed as medium height and build with gray eyes and black hair.3

Grover Cleveland HUNT enlisted in the U. S. Army during World War I on 8 September 1917 in Prattville, Alabama. He served in Company H 327th Infantry until 14 Oct 1917 and Company A 118th Machine Gun Battalion to 17 Nov 1918. He was shipped overseas 2 Nov 1918 to 31 Jan 1919 serving in Company C 329th Infantry Regiment of the 83rd Daybeacon until his discharge at demobilization 14 Feb 1919. They did not see action.

Grover Cleveland HUNT died on 25 November 1970 in Prattville, Autauga County, Alabama, at age 78.

Ansley Esco HUNT died on 17 July 2011 in Birmingham, Alabama, at age 87.1 He was buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama.3

     Alford Reese HUNT, son of Jesse Samuel HUNT and Barbara Cornelia ESCO, was born on 4 January 1926 in Autauga County, Alabama.1

Alford Reese HUNT appeared on a census, enumerated 16 April 1940, in the household of his father Jesse Samuel HUNT in Liberty Beat 10, Autauga County, Alabama. He was identified as son, Alford R. Hunt, 14, in first year of high school.2

Alford began military service at age 18 in August 1944 in Fort McClellan, Alabama, as a private in the U. S. Army. He was wounded during World War II.

Alford married Myrtle Edith FISHER on 9 July 1949 in Autauga County, Alabama. At the time of his marriage, Alfred's occupation was cab driver.3

Alford Reese HUNT died on 3 October 1978 in Montgomery, Montgomery County, Alabama, at age 52.4 He was buried in Pine Level Methodist Church Cemetery, Autauga County, Alabama.

Grover Samuel Hunt
     Grover Samuel HUNT, son of Jesse Samuel HUNT and Barbara Cornelia ESCO, was born on 16 January 1919 in Autauga County, Alabama.1

Grover Samuel HUNT appeared on a census, enumerated 16 April 1940, in the household of his father Jesse Samuel HUNT in Liberty Beat 10, Autauga County, Alabama. He was identified as son, Grover S. Hunt, age 21, farm laborer, with 2 years high school.2

Grover was registered for the draft during World War II on 16 October 1940 while living in Prattville, Autauga County, Alabama. He was 21 years old and a farmer. It listed his father Jesse Samuel Hunt as his contact person. He was discribed as a white male, 6 ft. 1 inch tall, 155 lbs., with gray eyes, black hair and a ruddy complexion. His residence was at 13 Clanton Park in Montgomery.3

Grover married Margaret Louise McGLAMRY on 16 December 1944 in Autauga County, Alabama.4 He died on 2 April 1945 in Hollandia, Papua New Guinea, at age 26. Sgt. Hunt was killed in a vehicle accident. He had served 34 months in the South Pacific with the 104th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion. He had just returned to his company after a 30 day leave at home.

Surviving in addition to his father are his widow, the former Margaret McGlamry, of Deatsville and Montgomery; three brothers, J. E. and A. E., Montgomery; Pvt. Alfred R. Hunt, Fort McClellan, and one sister, Miss Jeffie Hunt, Prattville.5,6 He was buried in Pine Level Methodist Church Cemetery, Autauga County, Alabama.
