     Elijah POPE, son of Jacob Thomas POPE and Elizabeth Dawkins, was born in 1772 in Northampton County, North Carolina.

During War of 1812, Sampson POPE, George Washington POPE and Elijah POPE enlisted in the South Carolina Militia in Edgefield County, South Carolina. The History of Edgefield by John Abney Chapman tells a story of ''brothers" George and Sampson Pope. They are listed in Capt. Zachary Brooks' Company, along with their brother Elijah Pope and with Joel Abney, husband of sister Elizabeth Pope, and Azariah Abney, husband of sister Mary Pope.

Elijah POPE died in 1840 in Scottsville, Allen County, Kentucky.

     Mourning POPE, daughter of Solomon POPE and Susannah Dawkins, was born on 9 June 1769 in Epworth (near Ninety-Six), Greenwood County, South Carolina.^1,2

     Altha Arminte Arrington was born in 1857 in Clarke County, Mississippi. She was also known as Minnie.

Altha married Franklin Pierce ABNEY, son of Paul Collins ABNEY and Margaret Elvira Fullerton, on 15 October 1876 in Lufkin, Angelina County, Texas. She was the daughter of Ezekiah "Zeke" Arrington and Talitha Bounds. Minnie and Franklin had six children: Jessie Elivira, Telitha, Lena, Frankie, Frank, and George.

     Perlina W. ABNEY, daughter of William S. ABNEY and Elizabeth Graham, was born in 1820 in Estill County, Kentucky.

Perlina W. ABNEY died on 13 May 1888 in Whitesville, Montgomery County, Indiana. She was buried in Ladoga Cemetery, Ladoga, Montgomery County, Indiana.²

     William S. ABNEY Jr., son of William S. ABNEY and Elizabeth Graham, was born on 12 December 1828 in Estill County, Kentucky.

William married second Mary Elizabeth Gibson on 15 April 1852 in Boone County, Indiana.
