Peter VINCENT was named an heir in the will of Philip Vincent dated 23 September 1805 in Halifax County, North Carolina. To his son Peter Vinson he gave "one year schooling."¹

     Martha E. Morris was born on 20 February 1846 in Rusk County, Texas. She was also known as Mattie.

Martha married James E. L. COLEMAN, son of Thomas W. COLEMAN and Margaret FOREMAN, on 16 January 1862 in Cherokee County, Texas. She was the daughter of Benjamin Morris, Sr. and Margarette Craig.

On 20 February 1879 Martha E. died in Coryell County, Texas, at age 33 leaving James E. L. a widower. She was buried in Evergreen Bondrant Cemetery, Purmela, Coryell County, Texas.

     Martha Jane Mays was born on 18 October 1845 in Louisiana. She was also known as Mattie Jane.

Martha married Jim COLEMAN, son of Thomas W. COLEMAN and Margaret FOREMAN, on 8 February 1889 in Coryell County, Texas. She was the daughter of William and Emeline Mays.

Martha Jane Mays died on 30 May 1929 in Artesia, Eddy County, New Mexico, at age 83. She was buried in Woodbine Cemtery, Artesia, Eddy County, New Mexico.

     James COLEMAN, son of Andrew Jackson COLEMAN and Lydia Ann BURT, was born circa 1861 in Autauga County, Alabama.

Their children, all born in Tennessee, were: Joseph H., 21, farm laborer; William D., 17, farm laborer; Thomas E., 15, farm laborer; David W., 13; Mary R., 11; Sarah A., 9; Martha C., 7; Larkin A., 2 and Alexander, 5 months old, born in December. The children, Sarah and older, were all attending school.

Tullahoma was created in 1852 when the Nashville & Chattanooga Railroad was built. It was half iin Franklin and half in Coffee counties, and on the border with Moore county which was created in 1871.⁶

On 20 May 1873 Joseph John died in Moore County, Tennessee, at age 49 leaving Nancy Catherine a widow. At the time they had six children under 18. He was buried in Turkey Creek Cemetery, Moore County, Tennessee.¹

James began military service at age 35 on 2 April 1862 in Iuka, Mississippi, as a private in Co. K 17th Tennessee Infantry, CSA as part of the Army of Northern Virginia. He rose to sergeant and surrendered with his unit at Appomatox 9 Apr 1865.

The 17th fought in Bragg's invasion of Kentucky at Munfordville and Perryville. It lost almost half it's men at Murfreesboro under Patrick Cleburne and again suffered 50% casualties at Chickamauga. It served under Longstreet at Knoxville and in East Tennessee before being transferred to the Army of Northern Virginia in 1864. After many battles in Virginia it surrendered at Appomattox with only 70 of its original 1000 men.⁴

James married Malinda Weaver on 19 November 1885 in Franklin County, Tennessee.^5,6

William saw military service between 1862 and 1865 in Franklin County, Tennessee, when he enlisted as a private in company F "The Ridgeville Guards" of the 4th Confederate Infantry, renamed the 34th Tennessee Infantry in April 1862. He later promoted to sergeant. The 34th fought at Murfreesboro 31 Dec 1862 iwth 54 casualties and at Chickamauga 19-20 Septemeber 1863 with 65 causualites. They fought at Chattanooga and throughout the Atlanta campaign with the Army of Tennessee.

William Wesley BURT died on 22 March 1919 in Estill Springs, Franklin County, Tennessee, at age 84.

     Charles Frederick BURT, son of Frederick BURT and Nancy Wormack, was born in 1838 in Franklin County, Tennessee.

     Udolphus Wolf McAdoo was born on 7 November 1855 in Cass County, Texas.

Udolphus married Nancy DeValsco BURT, daughter of John William BURT and Sarah Ann Amanda CAFFEE, on 5 April 1880 in Kopperl, Bosque County, Texas.

Udolphus Wolf McAdoo died in July 1913 in Fletcher, Comanche County, Oklahoma, at age 57. He was buried in Mountain View Cemetery, Fletcher, Oklahoma.
