M, b. 30 December 1725, d. 17 April 1761
- Relationship
- 6th great-granduncle of John Kennedy BROWN Jr.
Hans Jacob WEBER, son of Jakob WEBER and Veronika Weiss, was born on 30 December 1725 in Unterrifferswil, Canton Zurich, Switzerland.1 He was also known as Jacob.
Hans Jacob WEBER and Henrich WEBER moved from Rifferswil, Switzerland to Charles Town, South Carolina, in August 1739. The 23-year-old Heinrich, his 21-year-old bride Anna, and his 13 -year-old brother Jacob traveled together to America. The typical route from northern Switzerland was by boat down the Rhine River to Basel, then through Germany to Rotterdam, the nearest seaport for the voyage to Charles Town. It was a distance of nearly 500 miles to Rotterdam by boat taking about six weeks. The voyage from Rotterdam to Charles Town might take 12 weeks or longer.
Their arrival date or the name of their ship is not known, but they were in Saxe Gotha by 2 Feb 1740 when Heinrich signed a petition encouraging Swiss immigration and settlement. He signed in German script as Joh. Heinrich Weber.
Since Jacob was only 14 when they arrived, he probably lived with Heinrich and Anna until he was 18-20.2
Hans Jacob WEBER died on 17 April 1761 in Charles Town, South Carolina, at age 35.1

Bennie Columbus HUNT
M, b. 27 January 1914, d. 3 September 1927
- Relationship
- 3rd cousin 1 time removed of John Kennedy BROWN Jr.
Bennie Columbus HUNT, son of Jesse Franklin HUNT and Lillie Beatrice HORNSBY, was born on 27 January 1914 in Deatsville, Elmore County, Alabama.
Bennie Columbus HUNT died on 3 September 1927 in Prattville, Autauga County, Alabama, at age 13. He was buried in Pine Level Methodist Church Cemetery, Pine Level, Autauga County, Alabama.
His obituary appeared 8 September 1927 in the The Prattville Progress, published in Prattville, Alabama. Bennie Hunt Meets Death-- Bennie Hunt, the 13-year-old son of Mr. Jesse Hunt, recently wandered away from home with some friend. It seems that the great wide world did not have all the attractions that Bennie had pictured and he started back to be sheltered under his father's roof. Bennie fell or was thrown from a train about ten days ago near Memphis, Tenn., and was brought to Prattville. He died from his injuries last Saturday and was buried in the Pine Level cemetery last Sunday afternoon, Rev. M. L. Harris officiating.
His father, Mr. Jesse Hunt, resides about three miles northwest of Prattville. The death of this boy is doubly sad and should be a warning against young boys wondering too far away from home.
