During the War of 1812, Mathias SNIDER enlisted in the South Carolina militia circa 1812. He served 12 months and was stationed near Charleston at Fort Moultrie.2

Mathias married second Christina Price on 6 January 1813 in Lexington District, South Carolina. Daughter of Capt. George Price.3

Anderson Gabriel Caver1

     Anderson Gabriel Caver was born in October 1817 in Orangeburg County, South Carolina.1

Anderson married Mary Ann TYUS, daughter of William Gilliam TYUS and Deborah BILLINGSLEY, circa 1850 in Autauga County, Alabama. He was son of Henry & Catherine Caver, who emigrated from Orangeburg, SC, around 1820 and settled in Autauga County, Ala. A.G. Caver was a planter in the old Milton Community in Western Autauga County.1

Anderson saw military service between 1861 and 1865 in Autaugaville, Autauga County, Alabama, serving as a 2nd lieutenant in Co. G "Autauga Rifles", 6th Alabama Infantry, CSA.2

Anderson Gabriel Caver died in February 1892 in Autauga County, Alabama, at age 74.1

His obituary appeared 19 February 1892 in the The Prattville Progress, published in Prattville, Alabama. "Last week in the 73rd year of his life, Mr. A.G. CAVER, a highly respected citizen, died with the grippe at his home in the western part of the county. He was the father of Mr. A.D. Caver of Prattville. His remains were deposited in the old family cemetery near his home."1 He was buried in Caver Family Cemetery, Billingsley, Autauga County, Alabama.1

Davis, 23 year old farm manager, born in Alabama; S. M. Davis, his 30 year old wife, born Alabama; daughter E. D. [Emma] Davis, age 2, born Arkansas; and step daugther, C. A. [Carrie Ann] Pool, born Mississippi. George had personal estate valued $325.

After the death of their father in 1891, their mother could no longer afford to support them so Lucile Irene COLEMAN and John McQueen COLEMAN were sent to live in an orphanage in Talladega.

Lucile Irene COLEMAN and John McQueen COLEMAN appeared on a census enumerated 25 June 1900 in The Orphans Home Of The Synod Of Alabama, Talladega, Talladega County, Alabama. They were recorded as inmates John Coleman, age 15 (born May 1885) and Lucile Coleman, age 12 (born June 1887) born Alabama. Their occupation was pupil and both could read and write. John was should to have attended school the last nine months. The orphanage was sponsored by the Presbyterian church and is still in operation.

Lucile Irene COLEMAN appeared on a census, enumerated 29 April 1910, in the household of her mother Katie Louise Lee in Precinct 1, Autauga County, Alabama. Lucile Coleman, a 22 year old salesperson in a department store.1

Lucile Irene COLEMAN and Katie Louise Lee appeared in a newspaper article 4 July 1912 in the The Prattville Progress, published in Prattville, Alabama. Mr. Halbert and Miss Coleman Married -- A pretty home wedding occured at the residence of the bride's mother, Mrs. Kate Coleman, on the eastern suburbs of Prattvile, on last Sunday afternoon, when Miss Lucile Irene Coleman was married to Mr. J. D. Halbert; Rev. E. M. Craig, pastor of the local Presbyterian church, officiating. The occasion was a very quiet one, only the relatives and intimate friends of the family being present. The bride was reared in this community and has many friends who extend congratulations and best wishes.
