Gilly married second Samuel ABNEY, son of Dannett ABNEY and Cassandra Abney, on 8 May 1819 in Edgefield County, South Carolina. Gilly was the daughter of Hezekiah Gentry and was apparently rather well to do. On this was the date they signed a marriage constract agreeing that they would share equally during their marriage as long as they both lived. At the death of the other party they had the right to dispose of the property as they saw fit.3
Gilly ABNEY was named executrix and an heir in the will of Samuel ABNEY dated 25 December 1826 in Jones County, Georgia.
Gilly left a will dated 24 December 1846 in Russell County, Alabama. It named her son William Trotter executor. Hieirs included "my son Geremiah Trotter," "my daughter Elizabeth Adams," "my son Henry Trotter," "my son Hezekiah Trotter," and "my son William Trotter, Sen."
