     Following the death of their father, Stephen FLEWELLEN Taylor Flewellen Jr., Eaton Flewellen and Fannie Flewellen were made the wards of their uncle, Shadrack FLEWELLEN, 18 July 1797 in Warren County, Georgia.¹

     Nancy Ann Gibson, daughter of John GIBSON Jr. and Frances Elizabeth Flewellen, was born on 15 March 1810 in Jones County, Georgia.

Nancy Ann Gibson died on 21 May 1863 in Troup County, Georgia, at age 53.

     Julie Frances Gibson, daughter of John GIBSON Jr. and Frances Elizabeth Flewellen, was born in 1815.¹

Julie Frances Gibson died in 1835 in Jones County, Georgia.¹ She was buried in Clinton Methodist Church Cemetery.

     Elizabeth Sarah Gibson, daughter of John GIBSON Jr. and Frances Elizabeth Flewellen, was born in 1820 in Jones County, Georgia. Elizabeth Sarah Gibson also went by the name of Lizzie.

     Wiley Jones Gibson, son of John GIBSON Jr. and Frances Elizabeth Flewellen, was born on 9 August 1801 in Warren County, Georgia.

Wiley Jones Gibson died on 8 December 1868 in Russell County, Alabama, at age 67.

     Abner Flewellen Gibson, son of John GIBSON Jr. and Frances Elizabeth Flewellen, was born on 23 May 1806.¹

Abner Flewellen Gibson died on 3 August 1843 in Jones County, Georgia, at age 37.¹ He was buried in Clinton Methodist Church Cemetery.

     Taylor Flewellen Gibson, son of John GIBSON Jr. and Frances Elizabeth Flewellen, was born circa 1818 in Georgia.

Taylor married Eliizabeth M. Wornum on 13 June 1839 in Jones County, Georgia.¹

Taylor married second Sarah Adeline Graves on 7 June 1855 in Jones County, Georgia. Her first husband, Joseph Chiles, whom she had married in 1839, had died 15 Sep 1852. She was the daughter of Joseph Graves and Mary Shorter, a relative of Alabama Governor John Gill Shorter.²

Taylor Flewellen Gibson died on 28 March 1887 in Crawford County, Georgia.

     Mary Burt KIMBELL was buried in Kimbell Cemetery.

Mary Burt KIMBELL, daughter of James KIMBELL and Nancy BURT, was born on 1 September 1817 in North Carolina.

Sarah married T. J. McDANIEL on 21 July 1863 in Morgan County, Alabama.¹

Sarah A. KIMBELL died on 7 April 1890 in Morgan County, Alabama, at age 61.¹

     William married Eliza Rebecca KIMBELL, daughter of James KIMBELL and Nancy BURT, on 29 August 1855 in Morgan County, Alabama.¹

     T. married Sarah A. KIMBELL, daughter of James KIMBELL and Nancy BURT, on 21 July 1863 in Morgan County, Alabama.¹

     William B. NEVILL, son of Osmond J. NEVILL and Sally BURT, was born on 16 April 1817 in Halifax County, North Carolina.¹

William B. NEVILL died on 12 September 1831 in Morgan County, Alabama, at age 14.¹ He was buried in Kimbell Cemetery, Trinity, Morgan County, Alabama.²

     Hardy NEVILL, son of Benjamin NEVILL III and Lucretia Smith, was born in 1770 in Halifax, Halifax County, North Carolina.

Hardy married Rebecca (?) circa 1795 in Halifax County, North Carolina. Her maiden name may have been Burt.

Hardy left a will dated 4 February 1815 in Halifax County, North Carolina. To wife, Rebecca Nevill, all my lands, etc., during her life or widowhood and she to give a share of my perishable estate to each of my children: Osmond Nevill, Augustine Nevill, Guilford Nevill, Hillman Nevill, Patrick Nevill and Halcott Nevill when they are 21. Daughter Elizabeth Shepperd 5 shillings. Lands to be sold at wife's death and money to go to my said 6 children. Witnesses were N. Smith and Thomas R. Nevill. Executor was Robert L. Marshall. Proved November court 1823.¹

In November 1823 Hardy died in Halifax, Halifax County, North Carolina, leaving Rebecca a widow. She moved to Morgan county, Alabama after the death of her husband along with her son Osmond.

     Rebecca (?) was born circa 1779 in Halifax County, North Carolina.¹

Rebecca married Hardy NEVILL, son of Benjamin NEVILL III and Lucretia Smith, circa 1795 in Halifax County, North Carolina. Her maiden name may have been Burt.

Hardy died in November 1823 in Halifax, Halifax County, North Carolina, leaving Rebecca (?) as a widow. She moved to Morgan county, Alabama after the death of her husband along with her son Osmond.

Rebecca (?) was named an heir in the will of William BURT Sr. dated 26 January 1824 in Halifax County, North Carolina. She was listed as freind Rebeccah Nevill, along with her daughter, Sally Nevill. They received slaves, same as the Mr. Burt's children.²

Rebecca (?) died on 24 February 1840 in Morgan County, Alabama.¹ She was buried in Minor Cemetery, Trinity, Morgan County, Alabama.³

     Hillman H. NEVILL, son of Hardy NEVILL and Rebecca (?), was born in 1805 in Halifax County, North Carolina.

Hillman married first Sophia W. CARSTARPHEN, daughter of Oren Datus CARSTARPHEN and Maria BURT, on 13 May 1826 in Halifax County, North Carolina. William S. Powell was the bondsman and the witness was S. M. Johnston.^1,2 He was the administrator of Oren Datus CARSTARPHEN's estate on 25 January 1843 in Wilcox County, Alabama.³

Hillman H. NEVILL and Sophia W. CARSTARPHEN appeared as head of household on a census enumerated 12 October 1850 in Wilcox County, Alabama. The household was listed as H. H. Nevils, a 45 year old farmer born in North Carolina. He had read estate valued $3000. His wife, Sofia W. Nevis, was 42 years old and also born in North Carolina. Their children were Owen (Oren?) D. Nevils, 22, born North Carolina; and born in Alabama were Josephine Nevils, 14; Robert Nevils, 10; James Nevils, 6; Thomas Nevils, 6; Holcu (Holcott?)l Nevils, 2; and Frances L. Nevils, 16.⁴

Hillman married second Mary Ann McNeikk on 4 November 1852 in Wilcox County, Alabama. Mary Ann McNeill Young Neville was the daughter of Hector McNeill and Elizabeth V. McNeill. She was the widow of William Lewis Young who she married in 1841. He died in 1848.^5,6

Hillman H. NEVILL died on 18 May 1865 in Camden, Wilcox County, Alabama.

     Rebecca M. FINNEY was born circa 1799 in North Carolina.

Rebecca married William C. BURT, son of William BURT Sr. and Elizabeth HURT, on 16 February 1820 in Halifax County, North Carolina.^1,2

She was probably the female age 40 to 50 listed in the household of her husband, William C. BURT, in the 1840 Federal Census of 39th Regiment, Morgan County, Alabama, She would have been about 41 years old at that time.³

Rebecca M. FINNEY and William C. BURT appeared as head of household on a census enumerated 21 September 1850 in Carroll County, Mississippi. The household was listed as William C. Burt, a 52 year old farmer and wife, Rebecca Burt, age 51, keeping house. Both were born in North Carolina and had real estate valued $850. With them were Fletcher Burt, a 22 year old student; Marcus Burt, a 19 year old student; John Burt, age 13 and James Burt, age 9, all born in Alabama. This suggests that they came to Mississippi after 1840.⁴

Rebecca M. FINNEY and William C. BURT appeared as head of household on a census enumerated 1860 in Duckhill, Carroll County, Mississippi. The household was listed as W. C. Burt, a 61 year old farmer, and his wife, R. M. Burt, age 61, both born in North Carolina. He had real estate vallued $4000 and personal estate valued $550. Living with them was their 19 year old son, J. K. P. Burt, a farm hand, born Alabama.

Rebecca M. FINNEY and William C. BURT appeared as head of household on a census enumerated 20 July 1870 in Carrollton, Carroll County, Mississippi. The household was listed as W. C. Burt, a 72 year old farmer and wife, Rebecca M. Burt, age 71, both born in North Carolina. He had real estate valued $1500 and personal estate valued $250. With them were their sons Fletcher B. Burt, 42 year old farmer and Jas. Polk Burt, a 29 year old farm hand, both born in Alabama. There was also James' wife Anna R. Burt, age 23, who helps in house, born Georgia, their daughter, A. E. Burt, one year old, born Mississippi, and Darcus Burt, a 85 year old black cook, born in North Caroiina.⁵

     Thomas B. BURT, son of William C. BURT and Rebecca M. FINNEY, was born on 23 December 1834. His tombstone gives death date as 16 Sep 1835 with notation that he was age 8 months 23 days. Date of birth was calculated from that information.¹

Thomas B. BURT died on 16 September 1835 in Morgan County, Alabama, at age 8 months and 24 days.¹ He was buried in Minor Cemetery, Morgan County, Alabama.

According to a description of the Minor Cemetery in Trinity, Morgan county, Alabama where Thomas B. Burt and Osmund Nevill are buried, "this was the family cemetery of Dr William Tompkins Minor and Frances Thacker Washington Minor. Dr Minor purchased the home place from William C. Burt & his wife, Rebecca Finney Burt." It is now located on the grounds of the Nucor Steel Hot Mill.²

     Wesley married Cornelia Adelaide BURT, daughter of Dr. William Jefferson BURT and Caroline Walton MATHEWS, on 19 April 1855 in Waverly, Lowndes County, Mississippi.^1,2
